Title:    Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS

1.   Holds appropriate Ohio Teacher Certification or Licensure.

2.   Ability to communicate with students and provide a variety of planned learning experiences.

3.   Ability to structure a physical classroom environment conducive to learning.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

EVALUATION:Annually by the Building Principal.

JOB GOALS:

Provide leadership to students as they progress toward the fulfillment of their academic goals in a school setting that promotes intellectual, emotional, psychological, and physical well-being and maturity.

DUTIES:

General

ØImplements board of education and administrative policies, rules, regulations, and directives.

ØDemonstrates professional growth.

ØAppropriately utilizes standardized test results.

ØPositively contributes to the welfare of the district.

ØEffectively utilizes special personnel.

ØTakes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

ØMaintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.

ØEffectively completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preparation/Lesson Design

ØDevelops lesson plans that support course of study objectives, address student’s potential and individual needs.

ØEffectively utilizes elements of lesson design.

ØAppropriately plans for assessment activities.

ØAppropriately plans for student intervention.

Curriculum

ØDemonstrates knowledge of subject matter.

ØTeaches to course of study objectives

Instruction

ØProvides opportunities for students to utilize higher order thinking skills.

ØEffectively uses teaching tools and resources.

ØEffectively applies principles of learning.

ØEffectively uses a variety of instructional techniques.

Classroom Management

ØMaintains positive control of the classroom.

Terms of Employment

ØSalary and work year as well as terms and conditions of employment to be determined by the East Knox Local Board of Education in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code and the negotiated agreement.
