Position Summary

Halifax County Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will engage students in grades 6–8 through dynamic instruction that builds strong mathematical foundations and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction

• Teach core middle school math concepts (ratios, equations, geometry, statistics, pre-algebra)

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials

• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback

• Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment

• Communicate effectively with parents and staff

• Participate in professional development and school activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field

• Valid state teaching certification (Grades 6–8 Math or equivalent)

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Commitment to student achievement and growth

Preferred

• Prior middle school teaching experience

• Experience with differentiated instruction and educational technology
