Position Summary

Halifax County Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered High School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will engage students in grades 9-12 through dynamic instruction that builds strong mathematical foundations and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction

• Teach core high school math concepts.

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials

• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback

• Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment

• Communicate effectively with parents and staff

• Participate in professional development and school activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field

• Valid state teaching certification

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Commitment to student achievement and growth

Preferred

• Prior high school teaching experience

• Experience with differentiated instruction and educational technology
