Position: Mobile Therapist/Graduate Level Professional

Qualifications: Must have one of the following:

  • Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker.
  • Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a social worker or a behavior specialist and have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
  • Have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education or related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults and a graduate degree with at least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Location: Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18 and other administered service areas

Job Goal: To provide clinical treatment that will focus on helping

clients learn to respond to their daily environment in a practical and productive manner. Emphasis will be placed on client’s current needs, functions, and support systems, as they relate to needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assess treatment needs of identified clients and develop a treatment plan and goal treatment plan to address those needs utilizing a strength-based solution focused model of treatment. Conduct treatment plan reviews.

2. Provide direction and support to the Behavioral Health Technicians.

3. Provide individual, group, and family therapy.

4. Utilize the collaborative treatment planning process, which includes all involved parties in identifying needs, steps, and intervention strategies.

5. Create and monitor crisis plans.

6. Utilize clinical assessments as directed by the licensed psychologist.

7. Document all sessions with clients and their families.

8. Communicate regularly with families and school personnel.

9. Conduct intakes with client’s including assessments.

10. Coordinate of care when the client is involved with other child/family serving systems.

11. Review and approve with signature all documentation provided by assigned Therapeutic Staff Support.

12. Implement and adhere to CASSP principles in the provision of mental health services.

13. Seek out clinical supervision from the Director of IBHS or designee.

14. To participate in CASSP, Interagency, MDE/IEP meetings, as needed/directed.

15. To perform other duties as directed by the Director of IBHS.
