Job Title: Technology Assistant

Primary Location: Tioga Administration Office, Kingston, PA

Reports To: Assistant to the Executive Director for District Services or designee

Status: Full-Time – Support Staff Position


Position Summary:

The Technology Assistant’s key responsibility is to provide assistance & support directly to end users both remotely and in-person. This role will also assist with the inventory, set up, deployment, and ongoing support for end user devices, including Chromebooks, Windows laptop and desktop computers and other devices. 


Responsibilities:

Resolve or escalate user’s issues and requests over the phone, remotely, & in-person while maintaining a record of work completed.

Decipher user’s request & issue from the original form to actionable request or verifiable issue.

Maintain detailed records of calls, walk-ins, requests, and issues and record troubleshooting actions done in a ticketing system.

Maintain detailed records of inventory for equipment including status of equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Experience, Skills & Abilities:

High school diploma.

Completed training in Computer Systems Networking, Computer Systems Technology, or Information Technology.

Demonstrated ability to communicate with others both in written and verbal forms.

Demonstrated ability and desire to learn.

Demonstrated ability to analyze situations for the core or root issue.

Demonstrated ability to work in an independent and professional manner consistent with organizational standards.

Possess the physical ability to lift & carry heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds), sit or stand for long periods of time, walk over obstacles on the floor such as cables, and climb and stand on a ladder.

Maintain a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.

Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information.

Provide all PDE required clearances.

Working knowledge of computer systems operation and use.

Working knowledge of Windows operating systems operation and use.


Preferred Experience, Skills & Abilities:

Working knowledge of networked systems operation and use.

Working knowledge of telephone and VoIP systems operation and use.

Working knowledge of managed systems administration in an enterprise environment.
