JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: Special Education
Classification: Luzerne Intermediate Unit Education Association
Reports to: Assistant Director of Special Education & Assistant Executive Director for Student Services
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. To assist the needs of disabled students, teachers, and parents in a variety of range of motion skills used in the educational process to maximize and enhance educational goals
2. To assist students in activities of daily living such as self-care skills, educational skills, work or social interactions
3. To enable students to participate in functions with typical peers
4. To perform evaluations, write IEP’s, reevaluations, progress monitoring and Data Management paperwork
5. To adapt classroom materials
6. To assist with organizational skills
7. To develop strategies for handwriting and assistive technology
8. To evaluate pre-vocational skills
9. To consult with district teams and individual teachers
10. To consult with parents
11. Any other duties required by the position
