School Nurse
Milton Area School District is seeking a qualified, student-centered School Nurse to support the health, safety, and well-being of our students. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive school health services and work collaboratively with students, families, staff, administrators, and community health providers to help students achieve success in the educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania School Nurse Certificate
- Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Valid CPR/First Aid Certification
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
- Clearances in compliance with Pennsylvania School Code
- TB test and pre-employment drug screening
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily health services and emergency medical care to students and staff
- Maintain student health, immunization, medication, and health-room records in accordance with applicable requirements
- Assess student health needs and develop and implement Individual Health Plans (IHPs), as appropriate
- Administer and manage medications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and District procedures
- Promote student health, wellness, and safety and serve as a resource to students, families, staff, and administrators
- Coordinate with health care providers, agencies, and other professionals regarding student health needs
- Participate in student support processes, including MTSS, Student Assistance, special education services, attendance improvement planning, and other school-based teams
- Complete required state and local health reports and maintain appropriate confidentiality
- Provide oversight and direction to student nurses, LPNs, aides, substitute nurses, volunteers, and nurse assistants
- Collaborate with District staff to support effective school health programs and services
Terms of Employment:
186 days, including instructional and professional development days, in accordance with the District calendar. Salary and benefits are established by the Board and the current professional collective bargaining agreement. Position may be required to work up to 20 additional summer days at the applicable per diem rate.
