Title: Language Facilitator

Reports To: Supervisor

Location: Bucyrus, Ohio

Additional Details: Full time, for the 2025-2026 school year for a preschool student

Qualifications:

● High school diploma or equivalent

• Able to apply for your educational aide permit through Ohio State Board of Education

● Specialized training or the willingness to participate in training in the use of total communication, listening and spoken language, assistive devices/amplification, proficient in American Sign Language, and language facilitation techniques

• Preferred experience working with students who are deaf and/or hard of hearing

● BCI/FBI Clearance

Overview:

The language facilitator makes it possible for students with minimal language to access content and interact with peers. The language facilitator’s primary responsibility is modeling and building language for student(s) with communication needs. Under general supervision, the language facilitator will provide communication support services to D/HH student(s) in the classroom. The language facilitator will adjust academic and social language among students who are D/HH and their hearing peers, the classroom teacher, and other personnel in the school. Other duties as assigned.
