Position:       Academic Assessor (located in Seneca/Wyandot/Richland counties)

 

Reports to:      Supervisor

 

Employment Status:     Regular/Part-Time (About 10hours/week)

 

FLSA Status:     Non-Exempt

 

Description:                  

Administers academic standardized testing to students as assigned and summarizes the results in a written report. Assist psychologist as needed with record reviews for multi-factored evaluations. Maintain positive rapport with ESC and district personnel.


Minimum Qualifications       

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  2. Valid Ohio Department of Education teaching and driver's licenses.
  3. Valid First Aid & Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Certification
  4. Minimum of three years of special education teaching experience. Experience should include testing administration & interpretation.
  5. Working knowledge of academic testing instruments (i.e., Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, IEP Anywhere, etc.).
  6. Working knowledge of regulatory standards, ethical/legal responsibilities, and policies related to special education in schools including ODE requirements.
  7. Knowledge of special education procedures and mandates.
  8. Strong relationship building, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills with school/campus staff, parents, and internal/external stakeholders. Strong interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity & competence.
  9. Analytical ability to conduct complex fact-finding investigations and develop plans of action to address a variety of issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  10. Ability to preserve confidentiality of student records.
  11. Ability to read, analyze and interpret assessment results and use the results to develop treatment/intervention plans and classroom strategies that are appropriate to the educational goals of the student (and within the student’s least restrictive environment).
  12. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to NCOESC administration, staff, parents, and other stakeholders.
  13. Proficiency with use of PC hardware & basic software (i.e. Microsoft office), email, and office equipment (i.e., copier, fax, scanner, telephone, etc.). Proficiency with web based applications (i.e., Google Docs, ODE website, etc.), and NCOESC databases.

               

Clearances         Criminal justice fingerprint/background (FBI/BCI), and public health clearances.
