Greater Summit County Early Learning Center locally known as SCOPE Academy

is seeking a passionate and dedicated reading tutor who can inspire and nurture a

love of learning. Our teachers guide the next generation of problem solvers and

risk takers preparing them for success in our complex world. SCOPE Academy's

mission is to inspire our learners to boldly and creatively shape their future,

together let's uncover, recover, and discover the brilliance in all of us.


● Assist in the planning for intervention and remediation in the areas of math

and literacy for identified students who have not mastered the content

standards and implement appropriately;

● Use continuous, authentic and appropriate assessment and evaluation

measures that are evidence-based and use them to improve instruction and

student learning and for feedback, including progress reports;

● Be flexible, resourceful, innovative, and can effectively manage the design

and execution of learning experiences, both formal and informal;

● Provide learning opportunities that support the intellectual, social,

emotional and physical development of the students;

● Model the teaching expectations that students are to accomplish;


● Work collaboratively to improve instruction and learning while sharing the

responsibility for outcomes with school and community;

● Remain flexible, innovative and adaptive to change;


● Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, school

policy and administrative regulations;

● Work with curriculum specialist in the delivery, training and support of our

school’s designated reading materials;

● Reports to and is supervised by the Principal and curriculum specialist;

● Other duties and responsibilities may include:

○ Test Proctor

○ Emergency substitute

○ Other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned by principal


6 hours per week

Qualified candidates will;

• have a BS/BA degree, at a minimum

• possess excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills

• pass a background check

• complete our paid training program

  • • have consistent availability 8:30-10:30 A.M., Tuesday - Thursday
