School Treasurer/CFO


Triway Local School District is seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of School Treasurer/CFO. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial management of the school district, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and supporting the district's educational goals. 


Areas of Responsibilities: 

Oversee all aspects of financial management for the school district, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and cash management. 

Develop and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with district administration and the Board of Education. 

Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements. 

Manage the district's investment portfolio and debt obligations. 

Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making by district leadership and the Board of Education. 

Supervise and mentor finance department staff, including payroll and accounts payable personnel. 

Serve as a liaison between the district and auditors, government agencies, and financial institutions. 

Participate in district strategic planning processes and contribute financial expertise to support the achievement of district goals. 


Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. Must hold a valid Ohio school treasurer license. 

Experience in financial management, preferably in a public school district or government agency. Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, budgeting processes, and internal controls. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. 

Proficiency in financial software applications 

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. 

Demonstrated commitment to the educational mission and values of the school district.
