Qualifications:
Possess or be working toward an Ohio Intervention Specialist License
Pass a criminal background check prior to employment
Responsibilities:
- Have the ability to develop and implement an IEP and behavior plan for each child, complementary to his/her educational strengths and needs as defined through the ETR and IEP process, while providing access to the General Education Curriculum.
- Have the ability to organize and run an IEP meeting.
- Have the ability to work with students on social skills, anger and behavior management, appropriate classroom behavior, and social-emotional learning.
- Display skills in crisis intervention, including verbal de-escalation, behavior, and academic intervention.
- Have the ability to teach in a co-teaching environment, assisting in planning with the general education teacher.
- Be knowledgeable of the latest instructional methodology.
- Be creative and student-centered.
- Be familiar with methods using technology to enhance instruction and assessment.
- Have experience using data to increase student learning.
- Have a desire to take an active role in school improvement planning and implementation.
- Ideal candidates would also be interested in extra-curricular assignments, especially coaching.
