Position Summary
The Educational Service Center of Medina County is seeking qualified, student-focused educators to support students in our Alternative High School program. This half-day position assists students as they work toward earning credits for graduation through an online learning platform. Teachers provide academic support, supervision, encouragement, and guidance while helping foster a respectful and responsible learning environment where all students can succeed.
This opportunity is ideal for retired teachers looking to remain active in education, as well as educators seeking a flexible, part-time teaching position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required
- Appropriate Ohio Department of Education licensure required
- Clear criminal background check/documented evidence of a clear record
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
Essential Responsibilities
- Support students in the Alternative High School program
- Assist students with required coursework and provide tutoring as needed
- Monitor student progress and encourage academic success
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other educational data
- Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and structured learning environment
Professional Expectations
- Support and implement the ESCMC philosophy of “Making Yourself Indispensable”
- Maintain positive working relationships with ESCMC staff, contracted schools, and partner agencies
- Represent the ESCMC professionally at all times
- Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all student and job-related information
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Follow all ESCMC policies, procedures, and administrative guidelines
Salary: $25/hour
Hours per day: 4
