We're building something. We need someone who wants to build with us.

Next year, we're launching a new vision for student programming — and we need a Student Services Coordinator who's ready to hit the ground running. This isn't a "settle in slowly" role. It's a leadership position for someone who's energized by meaningful work, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, and genuinely cares about the students and staff who make these programs what they are.

About the Role

The Student Services Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Student Services and oversees the daily operations of three distinct programs:

  • RISE Academy — Our alternative school for students identified with emotional disturbance. You'll ensure day-to-day operations, staffing, and programming are meeting students' academic and emotional needs.
  • Alternative School — A half-day credit recovery program for high school students. You'll keep this program structured, focused, and moving students forward.
  • SITE Program — Our transition program for students with disabilities, delivering vocational training and life skills instruction. You'll work with staff and community partners to maintain and grow opportunities for students.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee daily operations across all three programs and keep them running effectively
  • Coach, support, and give direct feedback to program staff
  • Monitor enrollment, attendance, and student progress — and use that data to make decisions
  • Identify problems and act on them without waiting to be asked
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with the Director of Student Services
  • Have direct, professional conversations with staff, families, and stakeholders when students' needs require it
  • Collaborate with building administrators, special education teams, counselors, and outside agencies
  • Manage scheduling, documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Contribute actively to the ongoing growth of each program

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, special education, social work, counseling, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in a school setting, preferably in alternative or special education
  • Knowledge of special education law and best practices, particularly for students with emotional disturbance and transition-age youth
  • Experience supervising or supporting staff
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in education leadership, special education, or related field
  • Prior experience as a coordinator, department chair, or administrator
  • Familiarity with credit recovery programs and transition frameworks
  • Existing relationships with community-based vocational or transition partners

Who You Are

Credentials matter, but so does character. The right person for this role is:

  • A self-starter who takes initiative and moves things forward — and who also knows how to take direction and execute on someone else's vision
  • A genuine collaborator who builds real relationships with staff and colleagues and gets things done with people, not just at them
  • Direct and professional when hard conversations are needed — you don't avoid them, you handle them well
  • Energized by the work — you bring purpose and pride to what you do and it shows
  • Invested in people — you care about growing these programs and supporting the staff who run them

Why This Role, Why Now

We're not looking to maintain the status quo — we're actively growing and reimagining what student services can look like. If you want to step into a role where your work will have a real, visible impact on students and programs from day one, this is it.
